Martial Arts is a way in which we can gauge personal progress. The physical progress of becoming fit, having a healthier body, which ultimately reduces our chances of health ailments that could hinder our day to day life. The mental progress from practicing is another crucial aspect of our health. Our ability to push through challenges lets us know we can do things even if it seems difficult. We increase Our ability to deal with higher stress situations during sparring, which allows us to take that into the “real world”, so we are less flustered when stressful situations occur. Our ability to breathe through negative emotions and turn that energy into positive movement or thought, assists us in day to day mental health. Martial Arts is applicable in our personal life, not just for self defense purposes.
